Tam Gryn, Curator and Director of Fine Arts at Rally.IO shares her experience with non-fungible tokens and chats with Dan Mikesell, president of Blackdove—a luxury digital art marketplace providing collectors with the finest viewing experience for digital art and NFTs on any TV screen or video wall, at home or work—and artist Francesco Lo Castro, who replicates his real-life sculptures as unique digital assets.

Tam Gryn is the Director of Fine Arts at Rally.io, where she helps artistic communities create their own autonomous crypto economies. She is also Head Curator at SHOWFIELDS, contributor to the BanklessDAO and has lectured at Harvard Business School. She is the former Head of the Curatorial Department of the Artist Pension Trust as well as Head Curator for RAW POP UP. Tam has curated multiple art exhibitions as well as charity fundraisers. Clients and collaborators include The Brooklyn Museum, The Whitney Museum, UTA, Glossier, Heineken, Evian, Mastercard, and SVA School of Visual Arts NYC. Originally from Venezuela, Tam studied Art History at the Sorbonne University, Politics at Reichman University and Negotiation at Tel Aviv University.

Francesco Lo Castro was born in Catania, Italy in 1976, raised in Germany, and transplanted to South Florida during high school, where he quickly found a foothold in the Arts as a prolific painter and independent curator. He’s the founder of Pop Art Studios a creative services agency and launch pad for all projects under the ‘LOCASTRO’ moniker.

In 2006, he curated the Art Basel week Exhibition at the Art Center/ South Florida, Miami Beach, which marked the first New Contemporary showcase to be sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts, and with over 40,000 visitors set the institution’s highest attendance record to date. He is also co-founder of the 2008 VANGUARD Art Fair, which merged with AQUA Art Fair in 2009, establishing the first expo of its kind to emphasize emerging trends in specific New Contemporary movements of the time.

Since 2012, Lo Castro has pushed the boundaries between art and technology, leading him to collaborate with many renowned digital artists, such as Beeple, congruently producing physical and digital work, some of which have been released as immersive installations as well as NFTs.

Dan Mikesell was born in Michigan, went to undergrad in Connecticut, lived in Latin America for 10+ years and has ran multiple technology companies. Mikesell has been collecting emerging art for 20+ years and 14 years ago co-founded Miami-based Fountainhead Residency, which has hosted over 450 artists from 53 countries. Mikesell is a partner in Miami-based Blackdove, which is a digital art gallery and platform with residential and commercial clients across the globe. Blackdove offers its own subscription video art as well as allows its clients to upload and play their NFTs on any TV screen, via their private Blackdove account.
