The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) has announced dates and initial programming for the 2020 edition of SCALE: The ASID National Student Summit. Held February 21-23, 2020 in Seattle, SCALE brings the ASID mission of “Design Impacts Lives” to design students and educators alike through top networking opportunities, an inspiring line-up of speakers, engaging roundtables, and expert discussions and learning sessions.
“The future of our industry is in the hands of today’s students and aspiring designers,” says Randy Fiser, Hon. FASID, ASID CEO. “SCALE provides unparalleled professional insight, growth opportunities, and inspiration so that the next generation of decision-makers and thought leaders are prepared to jumpstart their careers.”
Throughout SCALE, students have the opportunity to network with peers and industry professionals, attend tours of interior design firms and projects, schedule one-on-one interviews at the ASID National Student Career Fair, engage with design professionals for a resume and portfolio review, connect with sponsors and speakers in the Learning Lounge, and participate in a wide variety of panel discussions and workshops.
SCALE opens with the presentation of the ASID Student Portfolio Competition, with finalists in attendance and winners named on opening day. The ASID Student Portfolio Competition is the premier awards program for design students, generating the best collection of student portfolios in the nation. The submission period for the ASID Student Portfolio Competition is November 6, 2019 - January 8, 2020 with winners announced live on Friday, February 21, 2020.
