The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) mourns the passing of Alice "Odette" Huntington Lueck, ASID Fellow.
Lueck’s interior design career spanned more than 40 years and included numerous contributions to the profession. With her business based in the Washington, D.C. area, Lueck championed for professional licensing for interior designers and was instrumental in setting up ASID’s first model of professional development. She served ASID in multiple leadership positions, including chair of the ASID Foundation Board of Trustees and president of the Washington, D.C. Metro Chapter. Lueck was honored as a fellow—an honor bestowed on less than one percent of the membership—for her excellence in leadership, commitment to the profession, and the positive impact she made on ASID and the industry. Described as an inspiration by her peers, Lueck is remembered for her bright smile and the mentorship she provided for the next generation of designers.
