ASID membership is organized into two categories: Individuals and Organizations. The structure showcases how interior designers are connected to the ecosystem of the built environment and provides a way for a more accessible, inclusive, and diverse membership.
Any individual or organization of good professional and business reputation who is otherwise qualified under the Policies, and who agrees to comply with all obligations imposed upon Society Members by the Bylaws and Code of Ethics may be admitted to membership in one of the Society’s membership categories.
- Practitioner Member:
Individuals who practice in the field of interior design. Levels include Professional, Allied, and Associate.

Individuals who are faculty or staff within a post-secondary interior design program.
Learn more - Student Member:
Individuals actively enrolled as a student within a post-secondary interior design program.

Individuals that support the profession of interior design (other than Practitioner, Educator, or Student).

- Industry Partner:
Any supplier of a product or service that supports the interior design profession and practice.
Learn more - Firm Partner:
Any business with interior design as all or part of the company’s service offerings.
Learn more - Higher Education Partner:
Any post-secondary, higher education institution including a university, college, or accredited school of interior design.
