The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is saddened to share the passing of James L. Simpson, FASID, a respected member of the ASID community and an early leader in the profession. Mr. Simpson passed away at the age of 100, surrounded by loved ones at his home in Sarasota, Florida.
A Lifetime Member of ASID and a Fellow of the Society since 1978, Mr. Simpson was a founding member who played an instrumental role in establishing the Florida West Coast Chapter. Even in retirement, he remained active and engaged with ASID, demonstrating an enduring commitment to the advancement of interior design and the professional community he helped build.
ASID extends its deepest condolences to his family, especially his nieces Patricia Bossler and Celeste DuHamel, and to all who knew and admired him.
