AMERICAN SOCIETY OF INTERIOR DESIGNERS ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF 2019 DESIGN IMPACT AWARDS

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) has announced the full list of winners of the ASID 2019 Design Impact Awards, an awards program that works in tandem with the Society’s Emerald Expositions tradeshow partnership. Highlighting cutting-edge products that prioritize occupant well-being and sustainability, the ASID Design Impact Awards spanned across six 2019 tradeshows, from Environments for Aging in April to BDNY in November.

“The ASID Design Impact Awards are a testament to the value of thoughtful, universal design,” explains Randy Fiser, Hon. FASID, CEO, ASID. “We are honored to put a spotlight on products that embody the ‘design impacts lives’ message and are actively influencing our industry for the better.”

Launched at the start of 2019 as part of the Society’s new partnership with Emerald Expositions’ roster of design-related tradeshows and conferences, the ASID Design Impact Awards acknowledge products from participating show exhibitors that contribute to the health and well-being of interior inhabitants and/or promote sustainable design practices. Whether through hygienic technology, small-space solutions, biophilic elements, recycled or sustainable materials, adaptable designs for aging-in-place, healthcare innovations, or improving physical and mental health, award winners exhibited leading products with humancentric and environmentally-focused missions.

During each tradeshow, products were judged by a panel of design luminaries on design objective, design and technical innovation, market application, sustainability, health & wellness, and resiliency properties. Submitted products were required to be less than two years old and available in the marketplace at the time of submission. Winners were announced on the first day of each tradeshow, with all award winners presented a certificate for public display in their booth.

The ASID Design Impact Awards were awarded at the following tradeshows in 2019: Environments for Aging, HD Expo, ICFF, GlobalShop@RetailX, Healthcare Design Expo & Conference, and BDNY.
